I feel like I am eating too much at times and I am wondering what ideas you guys have out there for shrinking your Sleeve. Should I just go back on liquids for a week ??? I've lost 42 and I'm half way to goal to get to my 140 mark I'd like to see. My weight loss has slowed down alot... which I know is Normal especially for someone my size I have been told I will not lose as fast anymore. any insight would be great ! =) :crying:

Are you tracking your calories, Protein, and carbs? If your loss has slowed down go back to basics, you don't necessarily need to go on liquids. That's just crash dieting again, and that isn't going to give you long term results. We can't really "shrink" the sleeve, but going on something like the 5 day pouch test can get you back on track.

I'm not sure how much you're eating, and exercising, but changing things up or getting back to basics may give you better results than just hopping on liquids for a week.

Are you exercising a lot? I find that when I'm doing a lot of exercise I tend to eat more. If you feel that you are snacking too much, maybe try to eliminate carbs?? I'd definitely follow Tiff's suggestion and keep a food diary (either on a free site or paper) to get an idea of how you could change things up.

On a side note, around 3 or 4 months out, I noticed a much slower weight loss, but I still continued to lose. Based on what I read, I seem to eat a bit more than many.

Good luck!

What is the 5 day pouch test? Week 3 I gained 2-3 lbs. Week 4 might have lost 1 of those lbs.??? I'm getting somewhat frustrated. What did you eat at this point? Thanks for your help, Sheryl:scared0:

You don't need to do the 5 day pouch test this early out. Your body is still trying to adjust to the trauma of the surgery.

Increase your Water, increase your exercise, and make sure you are hitting your calorie, and Protein guidelines.

Google the "5 day pouch test", there is an entire website dedicated to it. It was established for RNY patients that got off track with carbs, and needed to go back to the basics.

Stick with your guidelines, and don't stress. It'll only add to your stall. Hang in there, and be positive.

I didn't lose anything between 3 and 4 and then I lost the next few weeks and then I didn't lose anything again between week 6 and 7.

It's definitely frustrating!

I am totally seeing a correlation too with my cycle. I guess I really retain a lot of Fluid in the week leading up to my TOM.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
