Unbelievable, I think I dreamt about Protein all night!!! I don't think I am obsessed with my eating, just think I am really working hard to follow the guidelines. So many times in the past I just could not stick to it after a while and a horrible thought came to me a couple of days ago that I could not keep this up and I would fail, just as I have so many times before. And as I made my kids their waffles this morning I reminded myself that NORMALLY I would have made myself waffles too and not hesitated to eat more than they did but with the Sleeve, I am able to control myself.

Just happy I have this tool and anxious to see all the benefits!

And I think I have this Protein thing down now, I hope that I can start dreaming about shopping for size 4s now!

Happy Memorial Day!

I go through the same thing. Failure is ingrained in us professional dieters. You know I had that horrible stall.... I kept wondering if I was going to be some kind of medical marvel.... the only person in history who can fail with a sleeve. I can tell the stall is broken by the way my clothes are fitting..... but I'm not going to weigh cuz it makes me crazy.

Your doing great.... try not to be so hard on yourself. I know your just post op so its important to follow the rules... but once your all healed, the sleeve is all about normal living and moderation. That includes good days and bad and forgiving ourselves.

Take care

Stacey

Thanks Stacey! I know, my Mom has warned me that I need to really drop the diet mentality and I will once I get through this last stage. I consider this a learning phase, learning what combinations of food can give me the most bang for my buck. Just made some chicken salad and added boiled eggs, talk about your protein!

I hear ya on the scale, I am weighing twice a day and not seeing the scale move as quickly as it was. I am sure I will get to where you are soon. But so happy that you are noticing a change in how your clothes are fitting, that is really what I am wanting!

So funny, I have clothes in every small size in my closet so I will be set as I lose weight. Mentally I feel like I will not truly Celebrate until I get below 130 because I have been able to get to 130 on my own before, just could not keep it off and maintain.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
