Hello,

Almost everyone goes through a stall. Don't let it freak you out please. I see that you have upped your Water which is great. I bet you see the scale move soon. Try to get in 64 oz of fluids a day.

When I was at your stage, I think my calories were less than 500 a day and my carbs were under 30, just for a comparison. That said, I'm a very slow loser so may not be the best one to advise you.

You're going to do just fine. Are you exercising? I found that upping my exercise really helped get the weight coming off.

I'm about the same size as you and have hit a stall too. I was surprised this morning that I had not lost any more weight. Have been at 217 for a week, but I keep reading that with the lower BMIs it comes off slower. I haven't started exercising yet as I still have incisional pain and have trouble walking for very long due to that. But when I dieted I ate a lot more and lost weight, so it will come off! It has too, so I'll just keep plugging along. It's only been a little over 2 weeks since surgery and I just started the soft diet this week. I will be more conscious about my fluids, didn't get them in yesterday. Let me know how your doing!

It's very common to hit stalls. I hit plenty of them. I never lost weight every single week.

Our bodies like to get used to the new weight before it wants to give up anymore lbs. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will come off. Just try not to worry and realize this is normal.

I lost 13lbs in the first 2 weeks after surgery then nada for 2 weeks. Every day I would get on the scale and every day the scale would tell me I was a failure. :biggrin0: Finally.... I got rid of my scale. I am no longer such a failure.

There's no way, with as little as we eat, that if we make reasonably good choices, we wont loose weight.

Even though I wish I could loose faster... stepping on the scale wont speed things up.

I plan to weight once a month and am working on my sanity.

Hang in there....

Stacey

So, so true!! I lose like this; down 3lbs, back up 3lbs, down 2lbs, back up 2lbs, down 3lbs (this process may go back and forth for a week or so) and then it stays off and that is my new "set weight".

I think I'm in love with my sleeve! :biggrin0:

You need 800 calories a day, otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and hangs on to every fat cell. Although it sounds odd, eat more (of the right stuff) and you should start to lose.

I find that I lose better at 600-700 calories than at 800 calories if I keep the carbs very low. I think every body is different based on age, exercise, metabolism etc.

You had 70lbs to goal. I don't think you are behind at all. Almost 30% of excess weight lost, just stay the course.

Same thing with me, as soon as I ended the full liquid diet, it's been going up and coming back down to the same number for the past 10 days. I am tending to be a little constipated too so that may be part of it. As near as I can tell I am only eating about 800 cal a day, but today is the first day I haven't hurt really, so I haven't been exercising as all. Been getting some walking in, but have to go to costco or something like that and walk around the mall its so hot here now.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
