Yes. this is WAY too soon to be eating such things......

First off.. and I'm not trying to "ugly" here..... but why did you have this surgery?? I believe most of had it to "lose weight" to get "healthy" to learn how to eat "better".... to CHANGE our lives.

If these were any of your reasons, pizza is not a good choice to eat. I've had one slice of pizza since my surgery ( 14 months ago) and that didn't sit well with me. You eed to start "thinking" healthy as well..... and eating Healthy... that doesn't mean that down the road you can't have this, but this is way too soon.

I am glad that you haven't suffered from vomiting... I was in the hospital for the first 5 days because of it..... but now as a hindsiet.. I'm glad I did have the reaction from food like I did... it helped to get on the right path.

And beside not being a good "choice"... your stomach has just gone thru MAJOR surgery, treat it a bit delicate for the first month or so. They give us a diet for a reason, not to make us suffer, but to help with the healing as well.

This wasn't meant to be harse or judgemental... just voicing my concerns and my feelings....

G'luck to you

:ohmy:well the way I feel about the pizza and dip is to STOP IT:mad0:!! No more bad choices of food. This is a TOOL to get you to eat right and make smart choices. Why would you go through all that major surgery only to sabatage you surgery:thumbdown:??? You got to grow and start choosing the right foods. I am 6 1/2 weeks out and I had a slice of healthy pizza last night that I made myself. It was fat free cheese and turkey pepperoni with mushrooms and diced tomatoes , no salt . It was a baby slice and I had a salad. My kids bugged me for pizza, so we went to Walmart and purchased the ingredients. It was cheaper than pizza and most importantly , I made it so I know whats in it. It will come times when you will crave your favorite foods but you will have to decide what is best for you. Thats what will keep you healthy. You are now the role model of the house and your kids will follow you with healthy choices. Please try to pick healthy and watch your portions because this is a lifestyle change not just a fad. Welcome to the sleevers club. :001_tt2:

You just about blew me away until I realized you were kidding. Perhaps in the beginning you will long and desire for the foods you once had. Remember, we are on the path to wellness, we must choose wisely and in moderation. I guess your fantasy food in your head idea is substaining you for now. Later on maybe you can work on good choices in your head..It's a process..and I am a babe in the woods as well. With that being said, I don't want to tourture myself by thoughts of things that woud sobatage my mission. I know you were just playing. IN my head I think of when I can go on mushies and what that will be.

I LOVE your sense of humor...:lol0:...I GOT it, but I had to reread the first part twice! I thought he DID NOT eat pizza 5 days out!!! :001_tt2:

Good for you for following your doctor's orders. There are so many WORSE things that you could eat than pizza!!! I won't BEAT...:wink1:... you up for dreaming of it! Hey WHATEVER gets you through the liquid part of your recovery!!

HUGS!! :001_tt2:

You can have pizza some day. That's how I'm thinking of all of my favorite things -- pizza, philly cheese steaks, even beer: some day, and in moderation.

Thinking of it that way helps a bit with the "deprived" feeling. Lifelong deprivation doesn't tend to make me succeed on diets. Moderation, on the other hand -- I can do that! And I can certainly wait until I'm healed (although if the weather gets nice and I get my new ride... temptation!)

Thanks to the ones who got the joke and to the ones who was truly showing genuine concern for my health. To clear things up, I haven't ate any of that physically it was a joke I told to my son and wife and they thought it would get yall laughing.

I truly went through with this surgery to become healthier and to loose weight not my humor.

My NUT said I cant start the full liquids four days out, but cause of shared stories I’ve read with other doctors wanting a full 7 to 10 days , I’ve decided to just stick to the SF Popsicles and broth for the 7 days.

Thanks Again for all the advice.

I'm glad you were only joking. I was going to say - get yourself to the hospital asap. You have surely done some awful damage. But I do get the "in your head" stuff. I was sleeved on April 19th. I remember having actual and vivid dreams about eating hugee amounts of "real" food just a few days out. And I fantasized about it too for a good week or two. And then, things kind of normalized. Especially when I discovered that no matter what my imagination was holding on to, my sleeve just won't stand for none of that! At least not very much of that anyway.

About 1 week post op I had a nighttime dream:sleep: that I was eating a HUGE bowl of fruit loops. It was cold and sweet I and was shoveling it in. I got a little distracted and looked away. When I looked back my bowl contained three grains of rice.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
