Big Booby Mamogram

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I had my yearly mamogram. I'm waiting in the "Sunflower" waiting room after I disrobed, washed away my deoderant and donned one of those ugly blue robes.

In walks a 6' tall, skinny, Amazon goddess and says, "hi I'm Chris and I'll be doing your test today". I smiled swallowed hard and followed her into the exam room. She reviewed all my pertenent information and then asked me..."are you still about 220 lbs?" I was going to update her on the 7 lbs I had gained since last year, but didn't.

So after she lifts my boobie onto the machine and massages it into the exact spot she wants it, I have to grab this bar, lean this way, lift this elbow, pull my shoulder back, try to move my hips back so my tummy doesn't get squished, tilt this way, now (with my boob squished to death) I have to take a few steps toward her and lean the opposite way :svengo:! If I had lost my balance and fell, my boobie would have been left in the machine and I would of been laying on the floor!!

Well, after all this I got to wondering what it will be like next year when I go for my 'Boob Squeeze" after I've lost a ton of weight! I'm hoping Chris the beautiful Amazon woman won't even ask me if I still weigh around 220 lbs! :thumbup1:

Thanks for the chuckle this morning. . . I haven't had to have a mammogram yet. My mom has the band and lost 75lbs. She said her mammograms are much easier now. While they aren't pleasant, she said it's easier to manipulate her body into the awkward position for the boob squeeze.

:w00t::w00t:how i can relate to that story! I used to have such problems with the booby squisher thingy. . . I used to be a 58FFF and after i had my breast reduction (14 lbs off each boob!) I felt so normal. . . then after i had my wls and have lost a gob of weight off to the booby squisher i went! Now they have problems getting the boob into the squisher, i am the 6 foot amazon godess and most of my techs are these tiny short can't reach nothing women. . .so there i am contorting into all sort of shapes! It's so funny sometimes. . . but boy am i ever glad i chopped those puppies off . . . i still wear a 40D but like my daughter says "mom you don't own boobs!" Silly girl!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
