I had the sleeve done in November 09. And had lost 65lbs as soon as 4 months after. My Surgeon was Dr. Duperier and Dr. Seger. The office name is BMI of Texas. I look great, but I feel even better. I love how exciting all the changes are in my life. My family just cant believe how quickly I lost the weight. I would trust Dr. Duperier and Dr. Seger with ANY member of my family. If your at all interested please call 210-615-8500 for additional information. They have a wonderful website as well. bmioftexas.com. You have to check them out!!

I went to a consult with Dr Patel and really liked him. I ended up going with a different surgeon only because his office staff didn't really follow through on a few things.

I had initially talked with the office a couple of times and didn't much care for the way they handled or were performing. Never officially met with Dr. Patel, but went with another doctor in the DFW area....and so glad I did!!! The office staff is totally opposite of what his was!

I highly recommend Dr. Duperier and Dr. Seger of BMI. From the first contact with the office through the entire journey, the BMI surgeons and team make every patient feel like family. You feel the dedication,Passion, and devotion to providing care that exceeds patients expectations. Their website is comprehensive and there is an extensive video library with testimonials and in-depth information that I found very helpful and very easy to read. Their website is WWW.bmioftexas.com. I cannot say enough positive things about this practice or these surgeons.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
