23rd - 29th May - Pledge your points!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone and Welcome,

This is week 3 and we are continuing with this fun way of catching up with exercise.

This thread is for everyone who needs motivation and encouragement to get moving and to help make us accountable to ourselves and one another.

The Plan is to draw up a new thread each week, running from Sunday to Saturday.

You are awarded "Points" for exercise and everyone works to their own ability.

You get 1 Point for every 10 minutes of exercise.

You choose whatever activity you wish.

Each week you pledge your points on board - making a committment to achieve them, and then you strive all week to achieve your own goal.

You keep your own score and at the end of the week you must let us all know just how well you did.

Hopefully, this will be FUN!

We are looking for EVERYONE to join in, so come on and Pledge your points!

Yikes! I am behind. I am going to have to taper way back, from the 25th (today) to the 29th I'd like to pledge 10 points (twenty minutes of exercise daily.) Thank you so much for keeping this going Bookleen! What are you doing for your exercise and how is it working for you? I ordered a couple dvd's and have a big living room that we never use so I'm going to take it over as my gym!

Today I am exactly 1 month post-op and the scale tells me I have lost a total of 20lbs. I have never lost 20 lbs in a month before so I am pleased.

I have a problem with exercise which I think was the main reason I gained the weight in the first place.

I am trying to get back into the exercise habit. When I was younger I played several sports but eventually became a couch potato.

Now I am trying to walk as regularly as possible. i often leave the car and walk to the newsagents etc and count 1 point for every 10 minutes walk/stroll.

I also have 2 beautiful little pups and I also take them for walks.

Hope your new living room gym works out well for you, and gets you loving it.

I hope to continue keeping this thresd going every week, perhaps sooner or later others will want to join in too.

Well if not we can just check in with each other, sometimes having a place outside of myself that I am accountable helps me! Its good to hear that you are finding simple ways to add exercise, making it part of life is what will make it stick so good for you!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
