Okay.... This stall is KILLING me. Can I ask.... did you stall out in the first month after surgery and if so how long did it last?

I had a stall that lasted 15 days. It started right after the second week post-op.

I didn't lose as much as an ounce in those 15 days and I was following the rules 100%; carbs under 30, 60+ grams of Protein. I was only getting about 400-450 calories at that time and folks on this board suggested I up my calories to 600-800 and start exercising. I increased my calories and started exercising with a 15min DVD, and the next day my weight was down 2 pounds. I haven't stalled since.

I didn't think my stall would ever end either. Don't worry, you'll start dropping weight again soon.

I lost 10 pounds in the 2 weeks prior to surgery. I had surgery on a Tuesday, and by Friday of that week I was down another 10 pounds. Then the scale didn't budge for almost 10 days. I figured that there was no way that I had lost 20 pounds of fat in less than 3 weeks, and that even though I was probably still burning fat during the "stall", my body was reclaiming some weight in Water at the same time. That was what I told myself--but who knows...and any rational explanation you come up with doesn't counteract the frustration of not being able to see a loss when you are working hard for it! Try to keep shaking things up by eating "high" calorie intake about every 4th day and then dropping back down. What's your sodium intake? You might try making sure to eat low sodium for a day or two and see if that makes a difference. It seems like forever when you are in the middle of it, but pretty soon you are going to see a loss.

My stalls come and go. After three weeks, I didn't lose for over a week. I am not quite 2 months out, but i seem to lose 1lb, then another lb the next day. and then a stall for 4 or 5 days. But I am fine with that. It's going the right direction !!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
