In bathroom seems every hour

how far post-op are you?? are you able to eat a variety of foods yet?? When I did Atkins and had too much Protein, Constipation could be an issue.

I didn't go for over a week post-op, I think. And then normal was about every 4 days. I have only had a couple of instances of rabbit poop (I know, tmi) where it is more of a strain and highly annoying. My new normal has been to go every day for 2 or 3 days, and then not again for a few days. Mostly formed normally and not a strain.

If you are still in liquids, try more Water. Pain meds can also tighten things up. I have been allowed to take stool softeners after prior surgeries. You could ask to see if it is ok.

I had this exact same problem. Definitely don't strain.

If you're newly post-op, it's likely just gas. Try to find positions that let you fart (to be blunt) so you can get it out.

It's not pleasant, but it doesn't last long.

That's right. You had your stent and leak. That tells me you body is probably starting all over again with a new poop schedule. I know it's frustrating but try and be patient. See if stool softners or benefiber help. Call your doctor first, and see what he/she says.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
