It's been a while since I took a look in the mirror to look at myself without the fear of seeing the damage I've done to my body. I would avoid or barely glance because I knew I would only be disgusted with how I looked, and avoid any type of cameras. I'm sure there are some out there that understand where i'm coming from, but today I decided that in order to be successful in my journey It has to begin with loving myself just where I am today. My weight is not coming off as fast as most but it is coming off, I don't see any drastic change but I want to let you know that when I looked in the mirror my extra chin was gone, my neck looked smaller, my face is slim, "Oh mirror, mirror is that really me?" and it's only the begining of my weight loss journey........ Be encouraged today, be patient and love yourself again.

Congrats!!! I really think this is one of the hardest parts for people. Somehow, I managed to start thinking this way even over 300lbs and I truly believe it will help me see all the positives as I am losing weight. I'm so happy for you that you have found this positive way of looking at yourself and I hope you feel wonderful!

It definitely is mind over matter. You need to have small goals and victories along the way.

I can relate to the mirror issue from a different direction. For most of my 'fat' years, I still felt like my old, slender self and then would look in the mirror and be totally shocked and disgusted with what I saw. Now, even as I lose weight - there are days that I am feeling better and more confident - and other days that I still feel heavy.

The mental is a very strange aspect for sure!

Congrats to you for your weight loss so far and the positive attitude!
