Fatherjonz 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi, Reading posts here I have heard a few times that the body can only handle 20 grams of Protein at a time. Is this correct? Why then would there be products with 30 or more? Can someone please enlighten me?? Thanks.
Tiffykins 673 Posted May 14, 2010 There is zero scientific evidence to prove that the body can only absorb 20 grams of Protein at one time. You can google "protein absorption myth" and get loads of articles. But, there is absolutely zero scientific evidence that they body can only absorb a set amount of Protein. The protein is distributed throughout our entire body. hair, nails, immune system, circulatory system all use some form of Proteins, and it's not just for muscle building. My nutritionist laughed when I brought this up, and told me that it's the biggest myth that floats around the "protein world".
Fatherjonz 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Thanks. I googled but could not find any article that in a simple direct manner explained what amount of Protein a body could absorb...I called a nutritionist who said "around 30"... leaving me wondering
