Anyone know if isometric (stationary flexing) exercises are safe to so post-op (until cleared for lifting)? I'd really like to try to build or maintain a little tone while I'm waiting for the go-ahead for full exercise again!

I asked my doc about some really easy stuff like "curves" or beginners yoga.... he said walking only. I dont want to loose tone either so I have taken walking to mean steep grade mountain hikes. I don't know about isometrics. It seems like you would have to potential to use some muscle groups that your not supposed to.

Talked to my surgeon today and he said 6 weeks before incorporating any muscle work--also walking until then for the most part. I can do a little uphill on treadmill as long as I am not over working it.

I am so ready to run again...

I hear you, brother. I'm DYING for some weightlifting, but I'm making up for it by walking 3-4 times a day for longer and longer intervals.

I don't want to end up with man-boobs! Must... lift... weights!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
