6 weeks, 42 pounds gone forever!!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I got on the scale tonight to find I'm down 42 pounds from the day I started my pre-op diet on 3/16! I almost can't believe it! Tomorrow will be 6 weeks post-op for me and I have not one regret on getting this surgery. Compared to all of the diets I've tried and failed on in the past, the last 6 weeks with the sleeve have been so easy! I finally feel like a normal person who doesn't think about food all of the time.

I have been very diligent on tracking every calorie, carb, and gram of Protein since surgery, but I've been so-so with exercising. My goal for the next 6 weeks is to work out six days a week so I can keep this downward scale momentum going!

OH wow, that is so exciting and I am so happy this is going so well for you. Your post just lifted up my funky cloud hovering over my head. Geez wed isnt coming soon enough. Keep it up and make sure to exercise. Be careful going 6 days a week just so you dont burn your self out. I always tell my friend who gets uber into working out with me, DONT KILL YOUR SELF otherwise you will not be able to come in tomorrow and that should be your only goal, just be consistant. I might start at 3 or four days a week so when you hit a plateau, you have some thing you can change like stepping it up.

ANYWAYS, congrats and keep us posted.

Andrea, great job! I wish I was diligent with tracking. I am two weeks ahead of you and did notice my body shape and skin changing with exercise. Seemed to rebound along with the weight loss, so I definitely think you're on the right track! We are doing really well! I, too, am from Michigan... but of the Upper Peninsula variety. Currently in Georgia but do return every summer. Good luck and thanks for the inspiration to get back to tracking!

That's awesome! Good for you.

I'm only 12 days out but haven't started exercising yet...still a little tender.

by the time I get home from work, I'm pretty exhausted too....waiting for the energy level to pick up a bit.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
