Question: how much should I tip Ernesto and the nurses? Thanks!

I had 2 different drivers (Ernesto and another weekend driver -one each way). I believe that I gave them $10 each. The nurses I did not tip (just going on that I am an RN and have never been allowed to accept tips).

Good luck tomorrow!!

Thanks everyone! Well, I ate after the hospital and will snack again before 10pm and lights out". I am not really nervous and I think one reason is cause Mom is here. The wind is blowing like crazy!!! It is a beating just to step outside the room but the pool is beautiful!

I will show Mom how to post on here so that she can keep everyone informed...

Thank you to everyone for the last month or so of encouragement and information, even if it was a post to me personally, just everyone taking the time to post and answer questions has been a true blessing!

I can hardly contain myself, lol. You are the first person to have the surgery since I joined the forum. So, it's really exciting that you are keeping in touch. I can't wait to hear from you after. I hope you sleep well tonight and dream about the new you. :ack2:

Anna, don't worry about it! I would not have known either but thought I read somewhere that somebody had done that.

We are getting ready to leave, Ernesto will be here in about 30 minutes!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
