Happy Birthday 3Loves

Yup...I'm with you on the getting up pain....exactly like you said & lots of sounds from my belly. :biggrin1: Most of the pain is in the port area and needed help the first 2 days, but I can now do it myself even though it's still tender. I have more pain in the AM, not a whole lot, but enough to take some pain meds. Also have some left shoulder pain. That's getting better too b/c I don't need to use my heating pad.

Too bad you don't get paid for all that good cooking....I guess you do get paid in a sense that you get to see your family enjoying it. I bet you are a good cook if you make up your own recipes. :hungry: Maybe you can slip in some low fat stuff w/o them knowing it. :heh: So, are you getting any rest? I hope so. Ask your kids for a foot massage. Afterall, you deserve to be pampered!!! I've only lost 3.5 lbs since Fri, but I'm perfectly fine with that. Glad to hear your scale is moving too.

Take care and thanks for the update!!

I have 5 kids total.....my 3 older boys are all in college (2 commuting from home and 1 just graduated in Fla...but will stay on for graduate work) then I have 10yr old twins in 4th grade (a boy and a girl).....so I cook daily.....and you don't want to know what our monthly food bill is....it is too painfull!...But, everyone is happy...and we really congregate for wonderful family meals and weekend "special" hot Breakfast menus.....but everything seems to get eaten.....No one is overwt in my home???? just me!....they all are high achievers with busy schedules and a lotsa sports. Even my husband is in great shape.......so....no one wants me to impose a lowfat menu on them!!!! Thank God for the band.....it will be my only chance in a food filled existance to remain in control. My older boys each eat 2-3 full plates of food at any sitting...I buy most of my groceries at Sam's Club and haul back those 5lb cans and 20lb bags of rice or sugar,.....25lbs of flour....and about 5-6 gallons of milk per week....and we actually go through it all!

They now love to invite friends over for dinner....as they brag about "mom's cooking....so in a way.....I am flattered....but I do worry that they could "enjoy" food too much....and someday.....when their metabolism slows down.....they could find themselves in my shoes.

Food is such a part of many cultures and holidays.....it is really an uphill battle if you have weak self-control.

I rant.....time to step off the soap-box....

smiles to you all...diane : )

I would brag about you too!! My mom was a little more simple (fried chicken in an Iron skillet), but we always had friends over and enjoyed big family meals. There were 4 of us kids so we could fill a table. I can't tell you the number of times my mom would feed most of the football team on a Fri night. So many wonderful memories at the kitchen table. :biggrin1: And dad would sometimes fix Breakfast on the weekends.

You make me want more kids. I can't wait for the next 2 yrs to fly by so we can consider getting pregnant. Sounds crazy at my age, but I love a full house......sometimes 2 preschool boys can sound like an army though. :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
