Devo 0 Posted June 18, 2010 Had my 6 week post op with Dr. Nick this past Tues (even thou I am actually 7 weeks out). He was very pleased with my progress as am I. They show 22 lbs down and I show 23...of course I don't have clothes on when I weigh in the am (LOL). Dang it thou, I forgot to ask him what size my sleeve is...just figures! Oh well! I don't have any problem tolerating any foods. I eat small portions and that suites me just fine. I struggle a little with snacking at night even thou I am making good snack choices, I just wish I didn't feel compelled to eat anything after dinner. It's not every night but it is most. Been on the treadmill 3 miles fairly regularly except for this week as haven't been sleeping well and am sooo tired after work. But life is good and I love my sleeve. Congrats to all of us April sleevers and best in luck in your journey to a healthier happier you!!

My scale was "broke" at 206 until I started exercising, then I started losing weight again! "rocking my sleeve" I like that!

Congrats to all of us April sleevers and best in luck in your journey to a healthier happier you!! I struggle with snacking at night too. I've always felt like I need a taste of something sweet in the evening. What I did was put Keebler Grasshopper Cookies in the freezer. I just pull out 2 when I want a snack. That's not too bad. Of course, then I'm adding carbs to the day's count, and that will slow down my weight loss, even stall it. That's why I was glad when I was released to exercise -- maybe I can have my cookie and eat it too! :bored0: Thanks for writing! I like this April Sleevers group. We're on the same page and sharing the same part of the road. It's nice to hear how others are doing!
breezy 8 Posted June 19, 2010 They have really nice clothes but I decided that i don't want to buy clothes untl I am close to my goal.. Remember I have plenty of sizes of clothing with the weight gain over the past 4 years, I put on weight because of a pregnancy. Shes now 4... i had gained 75 lbs and after the c-section it kept going up . I could not loose the lbs. All sorts of diets and restrictions . Still No weight loss. It was depressing and UNJUST!!! Lol seriously , I had to have surgery to live and I am very happy with my sleeve. Everyday I learn something new about my body . I always saved certain outfits, Saying " I'lll get back in that when I loose weight" , Well that is now a reality and I love it. I don't need to buy any clothes now because i have that size... lol.. I made the "mistake" of throwing away all my smaller size clothing when I moved into a new house about 7 years ago. I think I had resigned myself to my weight and felt I would probably never lose much AND I needed the closet space! I have found a lot of things at Goodwill that are pretty nice. I think I will shop there as I lose the weight until I get to my desired weight. Right now, I just can't afford to spend a lot on clothes. Your 4-year old daughter must be a lot of fun! I love that age!
Devo 0 Posted June 19, 2010 Those Cookies sound great, especially in the freezer. I haven't had anything sweet other than Jello pudding cups since 2 weeks pre-op...I usually snack on deli chicken meat with cheese or nuts or the pudding cups...I'm a savory, salty girl althou I never used to turn my nose up at a decedent dessert in the past! I do like chocolate. Just since the sleeve I haven't had the sweet cravings (thank goodness)...I love this forum as well. It is great to see everyone's progress. And the support is there for us who struggle or have issues. It's our own mini-support group. Rock On April Sleevers!!

breezy 8 Posted July 10, 2010 My energy level hasn't been this good for about 7 years! I am enjoying moving this new lighter body around! I'm at a little stall right now and that's bugging me a little, but I don't spend much time thinking about it because I'm getting so much done everyday that I still feel like I'm accomplishing something. Eating: It was hard recently going to a Chinese food restaurant and not being able to eat enough to feel like I was getting my money's worth! I still find it hard to slow down when I eat. I have to really concentrate on taking a SMALL bite, chewing it thoroughly, swallowing, then waiting a minute for it to pass down my stomach. I feel a little aching/pain as the food drops down in my stomach. Anyone else feel that? My food is always cold by the time I get 1/2 cup into me. I've been wondering if I should get some kind of special plate to keep my food warm!! Anyone seen anything like that?
notsofluffy 3 Posted July 10, 2010 I was sleeved in april in Mexicalli, I feel wonderful! Just got my labs back and another is out of range, blood sugars are 20 points lower then before. I still get overheated when I'm working outside, but just walking or hanging out dosn't cause pain like it used to. I have lost about 90 lbs (my scale is in a box, so I'm not 100% sure where I am). I was compairing my lost weight to objects and I realized I've lost two 5 year old girls or one skinny old lady .
Devo 0 Posted July 10, 2010 I cannot be more estatic! Got on the scale this morning and weighed 164.4! I used to have some discomfort about 3 weeks out but that has passed. I am on the treadmill for about 3 miles 4-5 times a week. I also try to do some work on my arms. I have always had wings so no speghetti straps for me but someday I hope to have an arm lift. I always eat my Protein first and then try to get some veggies in. Last night I had chicken enchiladas with verde sauce and a few chips and salsa and a little guacomole. Lovely. I also snack on nuts. Especially love pecans with sea salt. This has just been the very best thing I have ever done for myself. Blood sugars are great, high blood pressure seems to be gone! Still taking meds for high cholesterol but will have blood work this week and am hoping for improved numbers all the way around. Life is Good!

I just imagine her wrapped around my waist! You said about the labs "another is out of range"? Did you mean everything is within range for normal?
