In my preparation for the sleeve I am going to get some Biotin tablets, but wondered those who took it, how long did you take it for?

Just until you could manage to get the right amount of Protein?

Or longer?

Did you take it before surgery too?

I have got this right - haven't I? That it comes in capsules or tablet form, and presumably I'm better off getting the tablets so I can crush them?

Thanks in advance....

Kathy

I dont know how long we're supposed to take it. I guess a few months... till we get past the Hair loss scare. I found a chewable Biotin by "Solaray" and its sugar free.< /p>

I wish I would have taken it before surgery, and wish I would have been more diligent in taking it post-op. The Protein won't guarantee that you won't lose. There's a few members around here that got in all of their Protein plus some from the beginning and still lost hair.

I think my regrowth would have been even stronger if I would have taken it the Biotin on a regular basis. I had hair growing back in before the shedding stopped, but I bet it would have been better if I would have been more pro-active with the Biotin.< /span>

Thanks - I realise I'll prob loose it, but anything I can do to help prevent it, or as you say Tiff, to try and aid regrowth will be better.

Stcyt - I'll have to have a look out for the chewable ones....I think I am going to have to order them from the UK online anyway, as can't seem to find them here in Spain.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
