HI Jenni

You'll find loads of hints and tips on here from all the sleevers.

I'm being done on the 10th June, and have started to eat cleaner, having been on Weightwatchers since November.

I've cleared out my cupboards and have started to prep for post op with some Soups already... keeps me occupied.

I've also cleared out my big clothes to friends and charity, and am trying to get as fit as I can for the surgery.

Good luck with yours - let us know how you get on.

Kathy

Hey Jenni, welcome and congrats on getting your date set.

Start eating smaller portions now, sit your utensil down in between bites, don't eat and drink at the same time(this is typically the hardest habit to break). That's the little things that will help post-op.

Mentally, prepare yourself that a lot of stuff is about to change. There may be some tough days, but the good days outweigh the bad. Go in with a positive attitude, and stay focused. Follow your surgeon/nutritionist's dietary guideline and post-op diet. Yes, post-op diets suck severely, but they are in place for several reasons.

Best wishes, and know we're here to support you through this amazing journey.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
