Yoda 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Okay....so how are those in Ontario holding up over the last 3 days?? It hit 39 degrees where I am yesterday and it was over 45 with the humidex.....can you spell "melting puddle"???? Aaaaaarggggh. I think everyone I know stayed and worked late in their Air conditioned bldgs in order to delay the inevitable of getting into a hot sweltering car or bus!!!!! This should be the last day though and it should break tonight!! Here's hopin'!!!!! Get ready folks.....the humidity has only just begun......*sigh*...damn Ontario humidity. TommyO 5 Posted May 31, 2006 I love this weather, this morning I had my coffee on the deck and read the paper. Yesterday I moved a yard of top soil from the front of the house to the back. I was soaked with sweat when I was done but it was great. It's much easier to deal with as long as you can sleep at night I find, so air conditioning is a must. The pool helps too, SPLASH!!! Cheers
Yoda 0 Posted May 31, 2006 hmmmmmmmmmmmmm *glares at Tommy*. You have a deck???? *Looks at back of newly built house where one day there MIGHT be a deck*.... ummmm...*glares even harder*.....you have a POOOOOOL??????? Pool party at Tommys!!!! (I'm so jealous!). Topsoil moving...good exercise. Okay...now tomorrow I want you to move it back to the front again and then take it on to the back one more time!!! argon 3 Posted May 31, 2006 I don't envy you guys! I'm not a fan of heat at ALL. Good luck with that! Mandi
Woodys 0 Posted May 31, 2006 I'm 2 hours n/e of Toronto......enjoyed the thunder storms today and expecting one more tonight. The heat is good for my business (fine dining restaurant)......when its really hot and humid no one wants to cook and heat up their kitchens. 1 minute from the lake and 12 minutes from in-laws Balsam lakefront cottage.....if I can ever get there its a great relief from the heat Carol
Yoda 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Hey Carol...are you near the Peterborough area? Yup, had a big downfall and T-storms here as well. I just heard that the GTA region is under a Tornado warning; a little too close to home! Hey Argon, I don't mind the heat but I really hate the humidity. If it was a dry prairie like heat, I wouldn't mind!

Hiya Loriely: glad things went well for your pre-op visit. No, I didn't have any popsicles of any type during my pre-op diet (just yougurt, yougurt and more yougurt!). However, I lived on Delmonte sugar free popsicles (fruit flavoured) immediately after my surgery. They are great because they come as a "single" popsicle stick. Try your hardest to stick to your pre-op diet; it will really be a big benefit in the long run! congrat on your surgery date!

Woodys 0 Posted June 1, 2006 Cloe......you are all welcome anytime! My husband is the chef understands what all of us are going through. Everything on our menu is made from scratch so menu items can be adapted to our needs...except....we don't sell 1/2, kids, or senior portions so you'll be taking most of your dinner home with you. We are way too small of a place in a seasonal environment to be able to offer the above.....the food is more than worth it....Al can make just about anything taste like something! I have been to Rama a few times, love it.....and Wal-mart! You mentioned others are in the Orillia area....are they members of this board? Carol
