20 pounds in two months

Recommended Posts

I lost just 20 pounds since my sleeve two months ago. I was expecting to loose more weight by now. Did this happen to someone else?

Looks like you're a lightweight..I've heard that lightweights lose a little slower than us really fat people..lol

Yea... I was warned that the low bmi folks shouldnt expect the same big losses.

just out of curiosity what type of food program are you following. Are you low carbing it or just letting the sleeve restrict your calories? Haven't decided which way to go yet

thanks

With only 50lbs to lose, you may not see big numbers like those of us that had 100+ to lose. 20lbs in 5 weeks is pretty fabulous, and if you continue at the same pace or close to it, you could easily be at goal within a few months.

Tiffs right - you're nearly half way to your goal.... so think on the bright side!

I know I would struggle to shift 20lbs in 5wks on my own, so I'm prepared to loose it a bit slower - it has to be a bit better on your body as well, less shock to your body than it dropping off quickly.

I am 10 days post op and have lost only 4 pounds...I am trying to stay positive but I expected more loss this first week for as little as I am eating. At first I thought maybe I had gas build up in my stomach but I don't have any "symptoms" of gas trapped insided.

I have been up and around being pretty busy but no formal walking or excercise. Today I will start a regular walking plan to get this weight loss boost.

Start pureed foods next week :confused1:

I'm less than you...... I was sleeved on 3/11 and my stall JUST recently broke the other day and now I'm down to 205 from 220. I wish I was at 20 pounds 2 months post-op. I'm hoping and praying that I can loose 6 pound sover the next 5 days that will put me under 200 pds at my two month surgiversary.

I don't know what's going on.......... I'm frustrated toooooooo......

I'm sorry guys.... I know it sucks. Slow and steady is more healthy... but I know thats not what you want to hear.

You're like me; I'm also a lightweight. I was sleeved on March 17, and I lost 14 pounds in the first month and then stalled for almost three weeks. As of today (7 weeks out) I'm down just over 17 pounds. If I make it to 20 pounds lost in 2 months, I'll be surprised and ecstatic!

But I'm more than 1/4 of the way to goal, so I'll take it!

OMG me too 8 weeks post op and 22 pounds down I’m so confused.
HW: 275 pre-surg w: 257 CW: 235 shouldn’t I have lost more weight by now? I’ve been exercising and working with a personal trainer everyday for the last 3 weeks. I’m really more sure if I’ve stalled? If the sleeve has failed or if I’m right on track. So frustrating. Please help.

I wrote about this the other day, but this is one of those exact situations when it'd be much, much easier to help if you had your sidebar info filled out.

Maybe you're on mobile and therefore can't see it, but this is what sidebars look like (mine for reference):

Thank you so much :) And welcome!

So in general, bypassers seem to drop more rapidly at first, and then taper out - whereas sleevers in general do seem to have a more consistent weight curve during Year 1.

Within these averages, there's a LOT of variance. It seems like you're doing everything you can, so definitely don't stress about it.

Are you tracking your food?

I’m two months and 2 weeks only lost 21 pounds… my weight before surgery was 179

180 pounds. Weight goal is 125 pounds. I’m worry at this point 21 pounds almost 3 months and eating less than 1000 calories a day and working out 3-4 a week

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
