What EVER! lol

I just got back from my post-op appt. Tomorrow will be one week since surgery and I've lost 8 lbs. That seems kind of ok to me..especially since I came home weighing 13 lbs more than I did when I went in!

She said I'm following the rules maybe a little TOO much.

*banging my head against the wall*

I got in like 70 g of Protein yesterday and about 65 oz of fluids (including my Protein shakes). She said that was a lot for only being a week out.

Here I've been forcing myself to get it in..scared of getting dehydrated..what the heck!

So I guess I'm going to stop fretting about it and just chill out.

She also told me to stop taking my PPI and the Symax and see how it goes without it.

Hey..my BP was normal ...so that's a good thing!

:)

Good news on the PPI thing. I have am waiting for an answer from my doctor as to whether or not I can stop. I don't have acid and see no need to fix what isn't broken.

Keep overachieving!!!! the more Water you get the better you will heal and the fresher your skin and eyes will look. Your kidneys and liver are working overtime and getting flushed with Water is helping them do their jobs better. All that Protein will help you keep your hair.

I think they give the guidlines thinking people will strive for that but probably won't get it all in.

Dont kill yourself over it though.... stress interfers with healing.

Keep up the good work.... be good to yourself

take care

8lbs is good.....Congrats... and although she said you may be following the rules too much, well surely they are there for a reason right?

I know I'm gonna go all out to stick to them, as I want min. hairloss (can't afford to loose it as I'm fairly thin at the front already!)....

So stick with it, and good luck

Kathy

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
