OhYeah! Protein Drinks

Recommended Posts

Ok...so I really like these! The 14 oz. bottle has 32 g's of Protein.

Has anyone else tried these?

Are they are good choice for a Protein Drink?

I also really like the Muscle Milk Light Protein powder.

I'm trying to find alternatives to my one and only that I like the best that I get at my surgeon's office. That is PrescriptFit Lactose Free chocolate powder. One scoop mixes with 6 oz. of Water and has 14 g's of Protein.

Thoughts on the OhYeah! RTD shakes and the Muscle Milk Light powder?

I got them at GNC.< /p>

I did find them at several places online as well but I wanted to make sure it was an OK source of Protein before I ordered a few cases of it!

I tried looking it up on GNC website. Is it whey isolate? I only see that it says whey Protein. Is that the same?

Here's the actual product label.

http://gnc.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pGNC1-5345713_gnclabel_pdf.pdf

Milk Protein, Whey Protein Concentrate, and Calcium Caseinate is listed as the protein blend. While whey isolate is the most preferred, I was cleared to use a similar product with Whey Concentrate as the primary source. This does have excellent carb:protein ratio of 4:32.

I like the Oh Yeah Protein Bars. I didn't even know they had a RTD protein.

She told me it wasn't the best thing to drink..that it had a little too much calories. But...2 scoops of my prescriptfit powder gives me 220 calories and 28 g of Protein in about 12 oz. of Water.

The OhYEah! is a 14 oz. bottle..although they do have 8 oz bottles also.

She also said she'd prefer I find something with isolate over concentrate.

It figures the one I really LIKE is the one I really shouldn't have!

The only one I ever liked was a mix of isolate and concentrate. My surgeon told me, some is better than none. I didn't use it much at all, and didn't find it until I was 4 months out so I was already getting my Protein from food sources. The husband uses it as a protein supplement when he works out.

All the ones that taste good of course can't be the ones that they want us to drink.

I'll get back on my band wagon. The Isopure flavored drink that comes in a six pack of different flavors, is 40 grams of Protein, zero carbs, 160 calories, and 20 oz. I pour half a bottle, 10 oz, and that gives me 20 grams of protein with only 80 calories. It's a great supplement to my protein. But, some people don't like the tart taste. If you like starbursts candy, that you'll like this. It makes your tongue pucker a bit.

I love the oh yeah Protein bars. I get the choc. mint and the choc. Peanut Butter at vitacost.com. I figure it's better than eating candy, even though it tastes like you're eating candy. I didn't know they made a RTD Protein Drink. I say if you like them, drink them. It's better than not getting in enough Protein.< /strong>

I get the RTD muscle milk light at

costco.I really like that too.

Ewwwwwwwwww, not arguing, but I couldn't stand Isopuke ha ha ha. I love me some Starbursts though. :o It did more than make my tongue pucker.

I wanted to like it, I wanted to be able to chug it, or even freeze it anything. I tried so hard to like it, but I think I'm the most stubborn, pickiest protein hater in the world.

I am only 7 days post op but I had O yeah before surgery. I does have a more sugar but it tastes good and has a lot of Protein.

So far all of them make me gag. Isopure taste terrible to me. I mix it with diet ocean spray juice and freeze to eat as a popsicle. I can't even stand nectar which most people like.

I would stay away from Muscle Milk it is supposed to have high levels of heavy metals in it

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
