I'm a little freaked

Recommended Posts

If my understanding of a blemish is correct, this is not a blemish. It looks more like a round patch, rasied red ring on the outside, ugly yellow wet infected looking inside, about the size of a dime.

I may be just over reacting, I'm always just a tad paranoid when it comes to health issues.

It is never wise to hold off on seeking medical attention. Usually if you think something should be looked at it should. This could also be ringworm...that's just a guess, but it is certainly something that needs to be checked out.

Best of luck to you.

Dody

Someone mentioned ringworm, I hadn't thought of that. I still think you should see your doctor, but ringworm can be treated for any cream that is used for atheletes foot, it's basically the same thing. I use lotramin when I get it.

My first thought when you mentioned the red ring was ringworm. Now that you mention a new puppy and that you have several more I would almost bank on it being ringworm. ANY general MD should be able to help you get a quick diagnosis and some cream for it.....or even to rule that out.

Hope you are over it soon!

Is anyone taking odds on ringworm yet? If so, put me down for $50.

Sorry HunnyBun, I'm not making light of your spots, but it's sounding more and more like ringworm to me too. I still think you should see a doctor as soon as you can. Covering the spots with bandaids and washing your hands frequently is also very good advise. In addition to making a doctor's appointment, you should also make a veterinary appointment.

Let us know what's going on so we won't worry HunnyBun.

SO i googled ringworm and looked up the pics, and yes looks similar.

My puppy has a bald patch on her ear that looks weird and dry, so I'm sure that's what it is. Gonna take her in to see a vet this Saturday and I'm gonna get some lamisil.

Thanks for the advice!!!!

It IS ringworm.

I saw a doctor today and she told me that she is very glad I came now when it's still small and easily managable. She perscribed a cream I must use twice a day for three weeks. I have to take my puppy to the vet tomorrow and keep her isolated until she gets treated.

Thank you all for the help. I might have caused myself more trouble if noone suggested ringworm.

Ha! I knew it! OK, everyone, pay up!

Glad to hear it HunnyBun! Ringworm, while unpleasant, if FAR superior to skin cancer, huh?

Hope everything is OK with your puppy too!

be sure that you wash down everywhere that the puppy has been since you got it. This is a fungus that can transfer sooooo easily and is high infectious. Clean sanitize, and get the dog cleaned up. Good luck!!

Glad to hear it's not more than ringworm. Take care & let us know how the puppy fairs from all of this. We love pics of puppies. Post one here when you get a chance. Also, what's it's name?

Donna ~ I will pay you next time I see you. :heh:

The vet said it is not ringworm. The doc said I do have it.

Now Im confused.

If I didnt get it from a dog, who from?

I'm very unhappy.

I hate having something on my face. Especially a FUNGUS.

Hm, that almost sounds like bites of some sort to me. Can you take a pic and put it up for us to see? Just cause I'm curious.

I am trying to take pics but they are coming out very blurred. I'll ask my friend to bring his camera to the movies, he has a professional one.

Here is from my cheapie camera:

I was going to guess ringworm, but Ive never known ringworm to develop a yellow center like that. I swear that looks more like a bite.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
