stcyt 15 Posted April 27, 2010 Hi guys I'm 5 days post op and have this vauge memory of my doctor saying "no herb tea" Has anyone else heard this.... are there some kinds that are worse than others. Herb tea sounds so good right now  While I'm at it.... I was told no caffine. I go on full liquids tomorrow. I could have a Decaf soy latte right? Thanks Stacey
MidwestGirl 8 Posted April 27, 2010 I was only told no caffeine in regards to tea, so I've been enjoying a semi-regular cup of mint tea. As for the latte, I had a SF mocha about a month and a half post-op, and I don't know if it was the espresso or the sugarfree syrups, but my sleeve did NOT like it. So beware.
stcyt 15 Posted April 27, 2010 Good to know I'm headed for the chamomile. I'll take it easy on the latte... things are still a little tender. thanks stacey
pnw218 14 Posted April 27, 2010 I didn't do much caffeine before surgery so was very cautious having any afterwards. I may have had tea with caffeine a couple of times since surgery but not often. My first coffee drink was just last Thursday. A mocha frappacino with whip cream. I couldn't drink all of it - probably a little less than half. It tasted good going down but didn't settle perfectly. Pretty similar to before surgery. I love the smell of coffee tho!
stcyt 15 Posted April 27, 2010 I think I'm gonna hold off on the coffee thing till I'm past the 21 day tardy leak point. I love it sooooooo much. I cant wait to be satisfied on a small soy latte and not order a vente only to have it last me 10 minutes.
MidwestGirl 8 Posted April 27, 2010 I just realized that the mocha I had also had Decaf espresso. I'm still too chicken to have much caffeine.
