Well, I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday. I am not to excited to report that I have lost 5 lbs more. That makes a total of 28 lbs in 6 weeks. I expected the 3rd week stall/slow loss. almost everyone goes through it. I thought I was immune somehow. so while I expected not to have numbers like my first weigh in I was still hoping to lose a lot more.

My doctor said that there is no reason for me to be disappointed, that I am doing great and that I need to relax. He said that VSG'ers are still losing at 1.5 years out and it has only been a bit over a month since my surgery.

So...I am going to take his advice and relax, be happy with my loss thus far and start exercising too!

Your doing great girl!! We all are way too hard on ourselves! I know it is way too easy to get disappointed with ourselves for not losing as quickly as we want (I have felt the same way many times), but it'll have to come off sooner or later right? Wow, 1.5 years, that is something to look forward too! We all have our good days and bad days, but try to stay positive, we have the rest of our lives to look forward to, and now we have this great tool that will help us get to where we want to be!! Keep your head up, and we're all here for you whenever you need to vent good or bad!!

Celebrate your success! Do some walking and stick with the program. It will work! : )

Could you have lost this much without surgery?? I know that I couldn't do it.

Congrats!!

Hey miss! I was wondering how you were earlier today its exciting to see that you've posted. Hang in there miss. There are days that it does get super frustrating because it feels like all you do in the wide world is focus on this sleeve and what you are supposed to do, there are some days that I feel like I should just wake up at goal. Then I have to remind myself that it took years to get here, I'm really fortunate that it won't take as long to get rid of it, but lady we are getting rid of it!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
