Curvyjudy 0 Posted April 22, 2010 Hi, I am trying to figure out a date for my sleeve surgery. In the patient info from Dr. Aceves in Mexicali, it only talks about a pre op diet for those with over 40 bmi's. I am 5ft6in and 235 and have a bmi of about 37. So, what does that mean for me diet wise before surgery. I am trying to pick a date around vacations already planned and am not sure I could do a special diet during vacations.. depends on what it is i guess. Anyway, any info would be great. Thanks, judy

Mommydog14 1 Posted April 22, 2010 Opps. I'm being sleeved by Dr. Aceves on May 11th. Since I am a lower BMI patient (31), no pre-op diet was required. He actually told me not to lose any weight. I guess I'm a thin obese person.
kalew 0 Posted April 27, 2010 My BMI is under 40, I have a pre-op diet of 1200 cal, low fat, low carb for 2 weeks. It is designed to shrink the liver so that it is easier to move and there is less risk for damage to the liver. The diet my surgeon gave me is essentially 5 slimfast bars or shake and 5oz of lean Protein with 2 cups of non starchy vegetables for dinner, and one fat.
