Hi, I don't personally know anything about the molding clinic, but maybe you should read the forum on lap band complications. They have lots to say about the Molding Clinic. Best of luck in your journey.

I don't know about the Molding clinic except I hear the prices are great, somehow I missed them on all my research to get rebanded in Mexico. If you find out somethings that makes you want to head to another clinic (per Gracie saying the complications forum has a lot to say about them) then check www.bajanor.com I went to Bajanor clinic (my old posts I have it misspelled as banajor) and the price was $6900 for everything including my night at the beautiful Hotel Lucerna but excluding my food while at the hotel and my airfare. They have several different plans and Dr. Carlos works hard to make things work out, they offer some financing options too. My surgeon was Dr. Covarubbias and Dr. Miguel assisted. I'd had 5 previous abdominal surgeries so I was prepared to go open banding if needed but the surgeons where skilled enough to work around all the scar tissue and adhesions without me ever doing a pre-op diet and although being a bit more sore do to the more difficult placement all went great. My only complaint was cutting it too close to my flight departure to get me to the airprot. Feel free to PM me or email me at lightnerbride@yahoo.com , I hope all goes thourgh and surgery goes as planned at the Molding clinic for you otherwise I know Dr. Carlos would fit you in probably on the same day. I could even contact him to help you if for some reason you change your mind on the Molding Clinic.

Best Wishes and Happy Banding!

I used betancourt medical in Mexico. I had a great experience the price is $8,500.00 no problems and if I have a question they call me back very quickly. I will have all my cosmetic surgeries with this group. I had mine done 11/11/05 and at that time Molding clinic was closed down by Mexico Authorities and I dont know why. I was suppost to have my surgery with them. you can email me @ jenniferthomas99@yahoo.com

Yes , I can tell you of the moldiong clinic.. And "no" I do not recommend it ! I was put on life support do to a mistake made , at that clinic. Please read lap-band complications!.. My life will never be the same! If you do decide to proceed, please go with caution . And maybe you should ask them if they have had any fatal accidents at the hospital, and how did they handle it , or if they even could handle the complication? See their response. And I would love to know what they had to say!

anyone banded at the molding clinic? i am scheduled to be banded there on june 29th. i am so excited! :P

I know nothing about the Molding Clinic other than what I read here, but perhaps you might want to consider one of the Doctors that there is no controversy about.

I just came back from Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey and I feel that I had the best of the best. If you look at his qualifications they tell a lot. He is a leader in the field, the hospital is a state of the art, you are well cared for from start to finish. He has trained many American doctors.

If you want to check them out the web site is Ready4Achange.com

It is perfectly safe to go alone, their driver will meet you at the airport and escort you wherever you need to go. The guest house is nice, there is a house mother that will arrange whatever you need. They are very protective of you. The group is totally dedicated to your care and comfort.

I had a very pleasant positive experience and hope to return for some other work.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Mary

I am not sure I would put myself in the hands of the Molding Clinic. I to had looked into their clinic and heard nothing but bad things. Unethical practices and people having perforated stomachs, seem to be the main topic of discussion.

I was banded on 05/12/06 through Betancourt Medical and I know that they used to work with the Molding Clinic. They no longer work with the Molding clinic because they did not want to have anything to do with the main doctor and his shoddy practices. I believe this was the doctor that worked on Misfortune.

I pray that you have a good experience with them and I hope that nothing goes wrong.

God Bless

What doctor are you scheduled with?

Please let me know. I am supposed to be there on June 26.

I didn't know it was the Molding Clinic because the doctor that

is doing my surgery is listed under Cosmetic Surgery Center. The coordinator told me it was Molding Clinic yesterday.

The Molding/Moulding Clinic is now called BETANCOURT MEDICAL andshould NOT be trusted with your life.

I've been dealing w/ deadly infection, weeks in the hospital, medical bills through the roof, loss of my job, pain and stress for over a year now. And I'm still not out of the woods! Not to mention, I've talked to SEVERAL other former patients that had life threatening complications!

ANDRES BETANCOURT will attempt to sweep you off your feet and lure you w/ low prices. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
