Ok I am only 12 days post op and I can drink anything and I can drink like I did before surgery. I never was a gulper...but no sipping for me. I drink all day get in way more fluids and Protein then I need to. This worries me a little because I read that everyone can only sip and take it slow and somethings make them sick or taste different.

Am I the only one????

I have no hunger if it was not for this or that the pain that I had daily in my side from my port...I would never known that 80% of my stomach was gone.

You aren't alone. The others will chime in I'm sure. But, OregonDaisy had zero issues drinking post-op with her revision. Maybe y'all are quick healers?

OregonDaisy said that Dr. Aceves made her slow down while she was there because she could drink so much so soon after surgery.

If you want, she's really great about answering questions, so shoot her a private message, and she'll reply back if she doesn't see your thread.

I didn't have many problems drinking, after the first week (when I was in the hospital I had a lot of nausea, so that was a problem, but once we fixed that up, all was pretty good). I can now drink as much as I want of anything for the most part, and I'm not even at 3 months yet. It worried me at first too, but now I just consider it normal and part of my journey. If you feel ok, that's great. Here's to your sleeve!

Its great Kathy!!!! Its kind of a funny cycle too, the more Protein you can take in the faster you heal. The more hydrated you are the sooner you can exercise. Having such a great start snowballs into having even more positive results. I say relish in it, I am finally feeling hydrated and my body feels a MILLION times better.

youknowit, may I ask how they fixed up the nausea problem?

While I was still in the hospital, they gave me anti-nausea medications in my IV, and once I was off the IV, they gave me a shot in the butt a couple of times. By the day I left (about four days after surgery) I was totally fine in terms of the nausea. Actually, I was pretty ok by the end of day three, and day four I was feeling pretty good all-around.

There are these anti-nausea meds you can get for sea-sickness that are chewable... also comes in liquid. You might want to look for those if you're continuing to have nauseas. drugstore.com - online pharmacy & drugstore, prescriptions filled

Hope this helps! :thumbup1:

So true..I feel like a million bucks. I am so excited because today I get to go to the gym and workout on the elliptical...I love the gym and it has been hard to stay away but been cleared just need to remember that I just had major surgery. And healing faster with Protein ....even my incisions I might say are beautiful they are already disappearing and Dr. Aceves I might say did a wonderful job of keeping them small not anything like my Lap-band incisions.

Thanks everyone today now I just feel like a lucky one not the odd one!!

Wow I can't believe you've already been released to go to the gym. Your story sounds excellent!

Glad to read about the Protein and Water stuff. I know we're supposed to be sure we get them in but it helps to know the reason why they're so important. Thanks!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
