On mushies... In San Antonio on business for four days! Help!

Recommended Posts

I am on business in one of the best cities to eat in. Because they are all business meetings, Breakfast, lunch and dinner I have to eat with my co workers. Some places are not sleeve friendly :biggrin0:, but I am managing to maintain a fairly healthy diet. This am I had a scrambled egg, lunch chicken breast and a couple of fr fries, dinner 1/4 tortilla Soup and a few bites mashed pot. Any suggestions on eating out during this phase... I'm exactly 4 weeks post op today!

See if you can get your egg poached with some cheese on the side, refried Beans with some sour cream, order a burrito and eat the inside, you can order some of the thicker Soups like broccoli/cheese or potato Soup (it's higher in carbs, but it's a good go to food early on when we eat so little), some can eat shrimp on mushies because it can be chewed down to nothing. I'm drawing a blank on anything else.

If you have any control about where you eat you may be able to do chinese and get tofu, or really soft cooked veggies. Tofu is in loads of Chinese food and is masked well so you get Protein but it wouldn't be yucky. Beef w/broccoli is also not high in carbs and if you could skip the beef portion it might be yummy. Sorry I don't have other ideas. Good luck!

lunch meats, cheese, hard boiled egg, chile relleno, the chicken in a tamale is pretty soft, oatmeal, Soups, the instead of a burrito was a good idea from tifffy, i just had that tonight. i just ate around the tortilla. Chile, ground round. use your imagination. i would try a french dip without the bread :biggrin0:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
