I have not tried nor heard of this stuff but I just went on the website and I think it's worth giving those noodles a try! Thanks for the post.

I've tried it several times. I can get it at my local grocery store. Each time I buy it and get excited. Open the bag. Rinse, smell it, dump in the trash. Regardless of how long I rinse it etc, it still has a terrible fishy disgusting smell. I'm not generally a picky eater but this stuff really is strong.

We're all different so you may like it. I haven't tried it post-op.

I'm with Lee on this on this one. I couldn't tolerate the smell. I did manage one time to make them, and the texture was deplorable.

I stick with Dreamfields Pasta for the majority of my Pasta meals.

Yuck, I think I'll pass and go on the advise of those of you who've tried it!! I figure there must be something weird about a food substance with 0 calorie/nutritional value...but was a little curious thinking that it would taste like udon noodles or something like that.

Try spaghetti squash for a Pasta substitute as well. (There's a yummy mac-n-cheese recipe for spaghetti squash on the food forum here)

My husband and son tolerate it, they don't love it, but they'll eat it if I mix in some dreamfield noodles with it.

I swear the Dreamfields pastas are really yummy, low carb.

Spaghetti Squash is a really nice alternative as well. I eat regular Pasta a few times a week. I know it's tough when you're watching carbs, but 1/4 cup of Pasta isn't going to stall out your weight loss. Have a little and make up for the Protein later on.

Can you get this Dreamfield's Pasta at most grocery stores or do you have to buy it online or a specialty store?

Our local Publix and Winn Dixie carry Dreamfield as does our commissary. But, our Wal-Mart Supercenter does not carry it which is so ridiculous because they carry 500 other varieties of pastas.

Hey as I was looking at the dreamfields pastas online I came across the following site

Low Carb food, sugar free Chocolates, sugar free candy, and more - LowCarb-R-Us

it has loads of low carb options, not sure of how delightful any of them are but thought you may wanna give it a look.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
