Well I'm not exactly going to keep you updated. Let's just say that I'm very pleased with the results, and leave it at that. Fellow XY chromosome folks: this alone is reason to lose the lard!

I agree 110%. It would be great to feel like a man again! I am looking forward to it as well. Sleeving next week and the beginning of other things being "UNSLEEVED" :)

Ok, i know i'm totally crashing in on the guys party, but i'm a nursing student and have a question. I have taken care of obese patients with this issue so i'm quite familiar with it.

My question is...at what point of becoming overweight does it begin to ... well... hide? Like what is the process? At 50lbs overweight is it halfway gone? All gone? what??

Just trying to understand the male body and appreciate all it's facets. :)

FYI .......Orpah did a show with Dr. Oz not that long ago where this was discussed....see answer below...

Men can make their penises bigger. If you are overweight, losing 35 pounds adds one inch to the penis. Unfortunately, this rate of "growth" slows as you lose weight. Technically, you're not actually making it grow but, rather, losing the pelvic fat that's currently covering it. As you gain weight, the fat engulfs your penis and crowds out the light and you may begin to feel that it's "out of sight... See More Answers ?

I was just going to quote this same source!! I always "Dangle" it (pun intended) in front of hubby when he is dieting LOL.

*laugh*

Yeah, I've lost about 70 lbs of belly fat. I wouldn't say 2 inches, but a good 1 to 1.5. Again, it's all a perception thing (that particular part of you pretty much doesn't change size aside from the, um, natural size changes, no matter what the commercials tell you), but hey -- perception is EVERYTHING down there :(

At least you can see yours now, without pulling back the belly! I look forward to that day ...

I'm going out on a limb here and asking this because I don't know... when it's hidden by the fat pad, does it appear enough when you're 'excited' (for lack of a better term) to do the deed?

I'm trying to be as discreet as possible, but it's hard to when asking this kind of question..and i understand if no one wants to answer...:ciappa::w00t::001_tt2:

Yes. But there isn't as much to hang onto. :w00t: Every guy wants to feel as though he can "measure up" in the locker room, so one pleasant side effect of weight loss is an increase in, um... "stature." ;)

Thank you for the candidness! :)

I never knew this was an issue until I saw (gasp) my father's when he was sick in the ER. :glare: And i'm a nursing student...so i just want to be as informed as possible when the day comes and I have to care for obese patients. :thumbup1:

Only about one month since the surgery and my fat pad seems to be where I've lost the most weight. Either that or I notice it more, just like the total number of views of this thread. :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
