So far, it reminds me of Hair loss after having my kids. It falls out on my dark shirts (and you can see it-I am blond), it is in the shower, on my hands, etc. So I am nearly 3 months out. Isn't that about the time it happens? Here's hoping it doesn't get too bad. Luckily I have really thick hair.< /p>

I am only 3 weeks out so I can't speak from experience but my doctor and nutrionist both said that should not happen at all if you are getting in enough Protein. For me that is 45-55 grams per day for my age and body - the doctor should tell you what you need but both said that if you are getting in enough protein and taking the Vitamins you need Hair loss should never be an issue. Are you getting in enough?

I'll be 3 months out too, on the 25th, and the last couple of times I've been in the shower and doing my hair afterwards, I think I'm losing more hair. Mine's super-thick too, so I'm used to having a lot come out in the shower, but now there seems to be more, and much more sticking to my hands and falling in the sink (and on my shoulders) when I'm putting stuff in it, combing it, etc. Like you I'm not too worried because it is so thick (and curly on top of that) but I don't want to be shedding all over my clothes either! :)

It's about that time. Mine started at 3.5 months, and lasted 3 months. I used the Folicure Shampoo, and honestly had new growth coming in before the shedding stopped.

In the beginning, I had a tough time, but from about 3 weeks out until now I have had no problem. I think there are tons of people on the board that were getting tons of protein and still losing, but I could be wrong.

I guess I was lucky, I never experienced problems with Hair loss.< /strong>

I'm 4.5 months out and just started to notice hair in the shower, sink and in the comb. I have pretty thick hair but it feels thinner to me. Not worried, it will grow back.

I'm 4 months out and my hair is falling out. I too have very thick hair, so I'm not worried about it. I do get plenty of Protein but it's still coming out. In the shower, on my brush, all over my clothes. I have to rake the bathroom floor with my fingers to get all the hair up after blow drying. Because my hair is so thick, I'm used to it falling out. But this is way more that usual. I'm told it temorary, and will start new growth in a couple months.

I'm 4.5 months out and knock on wood, it hasn't hit me yet (gasp) However, I do fully expect it too, although I have to say I didn't have any with my weight loss before from the Lap Band...I guess we'll see, it is very common, and from what I understand, as Tiff says, no way to stop it, just help your re-growth.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
