SamieTeacher 0 Posted April 10, 2010 Hi all... I had surgery Monday. I've been sleeping constantly but feeling better every day (aside from starting my period yesterday, ugh!). I have a couple of question, though: My stomach is constantly LOUD...growling, gurgling, etc. Does that stop? It's growling like I'm starving (which I haven't eaten in forever so I probably am). I've taken Gas-X strips which help for an hour or so but then I feel the gas again. When I drink too much too fast I get a severe pain (when I had the band I could drink more as long as I wasn't eating). Is this just because I'm so fresh out of surgery? Do you feel the same way months after with liquid? I'm dizzy a lot and light headed. I'm hoping when I start full liquids this will go away. Any suggestions? Finally...I haven't lost a single pound. I know I'm bloated AND I'm on my period...AND I probably shouldn't be weighing myself...but surgery 5 days ago and not a single pound down?! Thanks for your responses and help. FreeToBeMe 2 Posted April 10, 2010 I gained a lot of weight from the IV fluids but it did finally go away. When I was five days out, I couldn't drink Water without having gas pains. Now I can take a couple of gulps and I am two months out. Hope you feel better soon.
girldep 0 Posted April 10, 2010 I gained weight after surgery... IV fluids. I am 17 days out and don't really have to "sip", but still can't "gulp". I feel really good, better every day. I started feeling better around day five, the gas was gone for me by end of week one...haven't has any gas x since!
Stacie 1 Posted April 10, 2010 My stomach stopped making those crazy noises about 2.5 months out, but it got less and less and now is fine. I am 3 months out and still feel some pain if I drink too much or too fast. No idea on the dizziness, make sure you are getting enough liquids and rest. Every month I have stopped losing the week before and the week of my period. Just quick answers, but I wish you all the best! Take care!
