Happy Destiny 0 Posted April 9, 2010 Hi Gloria my date is May 19th. I also have DM 2, not on insulin but I do take Metformin & Glubideride(?) . I'm getting excited & nervous because I know this is going to be a major lifestyle change. I know it's all for the better, so as long as I can hold onto that...I also am on meds for High cholesterol & hypertension. that is why I'm doing this to become healthy & happier! Talk with you again, I hope. ~smiles, Happy Destiny (aka Sheryl)
SweetSugarG 0 Posted April 9, 2010 Hi Sheryl, :biggrin0: I want to thank you for your response. I am happy to hear your excited about your op. I am really looking forward to mine too, yet saying that I have found myself eating more than I usually do, dont know if thats the nerves kicking in. I am keen to have a life change, but it seems like its going to take a lot of determination. So did you wait long to be accepted or was you accepted straight away? I got accepted over a year ago, but the process is soooo long. I had a previous date for October but there was some mix up with the date and not given the correct information....anyway that was then and this is now!!! How are you coping? InnerBeauty 0 Posted April 10, 2010 Hi ladies, I am having my surgery on May 18th in California. My emotions have been a roller coaster. I have very supportive friends and family and that certainly helps. I also started blogging to help me make it through the process. The last week has been really difficult, stress at work has me falling back on food to cope - very, very bad. The funny thing is that I know it's wrong, but I do it anyway - very frustrating. I have to keep my weight steady or the surgery will be cancelled if I gain. So now I have to lose the 5 lbs I original lost and then gained again :biggrin2:. We will make it through this and the grass will be greener on the other side!
Happy Destiny 0 Posted April 11, 2010 I'm am having to pay all out-of-pocket. The surgery is excluded on my insurance. My only hold up is work. I am waiting because they didn't have anyone to cover for me in April. I have high hopes that May 18th will be the Day! I want to start my pre-op diet early, because just as some of you have said...I've been emotionally eating (not anything new) knowing my surgery is coming up. My pre-op is 1200 calorie diet with Protein Drinks & 1 meal a day. I also want to get off the sugar before the surgery too! I hate those dt headaches.
