It isn't common or normal, this is a 7 year old thread for lap band patients. If you are cramping when drinking call your Dr.

This happen to me to. I had went straight to the doctor. They told me it was me moving and muscles are sore and still healing. Was told to wear a stomach binder they gave me in the hospital and it stop.
If you feel unsure about your doctor opinion you can always get it check out with another doctor.
