Congratulations on the comments. I am three weeks out, so not much to compliment yet. My husband is my biggest supporter and he says he sees a difference already. I've lost 15 lbs so far.

Several people have mentioned that I took the easy way out. OMG! If I hear one more person tell me that, I'm going to scream. I totally disagree with that statement. You only have to read these posts to see what everyone is going through . . . and it is not easy. For most of us, it was a last resort.

OMG

I would like to have a dollar for everyone who thinks this is the "easy" way out!!!!! All of us who have actually done it know the difference!! There is NO easy way out!! I have to say that NOT being able to eat what I want when I want is NOT easy!! I'm so used to eating away my feelings!! I have had a very tough last few days, and all I wanted to do was curl up with a bag of Cheetos!!!!! Good thing about this surgery, I can only have a few and I'm stuffed!!

Good luck to you!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
