ouroborous 519 Posted May 14, 2010 Figures and % are v interesting.Could it really be true that 1% of the population are sleeved or have any kind of weight loss surgery? That seems alot. Also, could it be possible that a higher than average % of athetists are obese compared to believers? Could it be possible that athetists who are overweight/obese are more likely to do something about it? Anyway, congrats for being 1 in a million! Actually, I just pulled the 1% figure out of... well, out of nowhere :thumbup1: I don't really know how many people have had WLS.
SouthernSleever 228 Posted May 19, 2010 Hi everyone. I'm in the "non-believer hoping to soon be sleeved" catagory. I wonder what % that makes me. :scared0: Anywho, hi everyone!
ouroborous 519 Posted May 20, 2010 I'm glad that it's becoming more socially acceptable to be an unbeliever. Twenty years ago -- even ten -- people would assume you were a pedophile or something. Hope all of us infidel sleevers are doing well!
Donna4545 13 Posted July 11, 2010 Ok, this is going to sound weird, but it's perfectly honest. I believe in God, but Christians drive me crazy. Most of my friends are atheists or pagans/wiccans. Can I hang out with you guys? :-) 1 Beanzilla reacted to this

Qured 3 Posted August 8, 2010 LOL, this thread seriously made me laugh! And God knows (ROFL) I needed that! I'm sleeved, atheist, feminist and gay In which % am I? :lol0:
Big_Mike 0 Posted October 21, 2010 If 90% of devout praying Christian sleevers are very happy with their sleeves and 90% of devout atheist sleevers are very happy with their sleeves, what does that say about prayer?
feedyoureye 3,087 Posted October 21, 2010 I'm a Buddhist, which is the best of both worlds. I'm relegious AND I don't believe in a creator god....:^) 1 Spirit Fire reacted to this
Cyndi 9 Posted January 5, 2011 Indeed. I sometimes hesitate to call myself an atheist for the same reasons that someone who believes in equality for women might hesitate to call themselves a feminist: the actions of an outspoken, militant portion of the population have really cast all of us in a bad light. I don't believe in God and never have, but I also have no real desire to "preach the gospel" of non-belief to anyone (because, what good would that do?) As I said, I just tend to live and let live and don't usually bring the subject up (because that always leads into long, pointless "why don't you believe in God? Are you angry at him? What's wrong with you?!" discussions). Of course, this subforum is FOR us, so we can be ourselves here Are you in my brain? Couldn't have said it as thoughtful and eloquently myself. Of course, nine times out of ten, the only people who wish to engage in such conversations with you ( "why don't you believe in God? Are you angry at him? What's wrong with you?!") truly do not understand even when we attempt. Great thoughts on the subject.
BlackBerryJuice 349 Posted January 6, 2011 I'm also an atheist. Best movie ever - "The Invention of Lying." 1 Canary Diamond reacted to this
bugwitch 37 Posted January 18, 2011 I was under the impression that the percentage of the US population that was atheist, agnostic, skeptical or just a general "do not believe in the all powerful space daddy" was about 20 to 25%. I've been looking for that statistic. Anyone see Religulous?
wishes 125 Posted April 2, 2011 Both my husband and I are atheists. Living in an area where a lot of people are religious and conservative about it, I've just started telling people that I belong to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and that I've been Touched by His Noodly Appendage. It usually makes questioners stare, and then start laughing...and totally deflects tension, especially if I get into my routine about carb addiction. Now I'm going to be a healthy atheist! And with no help from, or credit given to, a non-existent deity, either. Lol, I am SOOOOO going to start using that, and I too... love carbs. Brilliant! So Cal Kurt 32 Posted August 5, 2011 I never ventured in here before. I don't think we are as small of a minority as some think. I think the minority are the ones that openly admit it. I am not saying there isn't a god, just that I have no evidence of one. I am doing my best to live for today as there might not be a tomorrow. Now if I could just get rid of the catholic guilt from my upbringing. 1 GlitteringGoldParodox reacted to this
