I am two weeks out today, my surgeon doesn't do mushies and has you eating Protein at all 3 meals by day 11. I have had no pain, nausea, sliming or heartburn. My stomach was like a tank before they removed 85% of it and apparently it still is! I have yet to cease being hungry, my biggest problem is thinking I can eat more than I can. I get full fairly quickly and it's a little shocking how little you can eat without discomfort at this point. I got a regular Arby's Roast Beef yesterday, threw away the bun and without thinking I ate just a little over half of the meat. It went down fine but whew I was uncomfortable for probably 15-20 minutes afterward. Leave it to me to still be able to pig out 2 weeks out! So far I am very happy with my decision to get sleeved. Pray that the same is true for all of you.

Now a days i always say "my eyes are bigger then my stomach!" Literally!!!! :lol0: but in time we will learn that we don't want the very uncomfortable feeling, I'm just now getting there and i'm 3+ months out. . . i know when tummy starts to squeeze a bit, its time to stop right then a there . . . not even a morsal more or else! :scared0: my thing is pain and sliming. . . i don't like at all:ohmy: very gross. . . so i'm learning my lessons quickly. . .good luck to you! You'll get it soon!:crying:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
