the4pits 0 Posted April 5, 2010 So...I'm packing up for my morning flight to San Diego and then on to Mexicali for my sleeve op. with Dr. Aceves. I'm a bit nervous, really excited and now...a 7.2 magnitude earthquake there??? Come on! Called my 'fab' patient coordinator, Nina, and she's checking to see whether the authorities have to OK the hospital for re-entrance and I'm anxiously waiting for her phone call. Ya gotta love the drama! Ruth
Dalisgirl 1 Posted April 5, 2010 Hi Ruth, Please post whatever Nina tells you. I don't want to inundate her with calls/emails but I'm scheduled to arrive on TUE for surgery on WED. Yep, you're right...gotta love the drama! And my mom sounded thrilled that there's a chance I might not be going....LOL. (She is not happy I'm getting surgery and that I'm going to Mexicali.) ichefmastersgirl 4 Posted April 5, 2010 Well I know my surgery is canceled for tomorrow but Nina told me to wait by the phone because things might change. I live so close that I am able to go when the call no flights. It was a really strong earthquake and it scared the crap out of me. We had some damage but not to our buildings. Hoping to hear from Nina soon. Hate being ready and excited about something and then it not happen. But it is always better to be safe. Kathy
citygal 0 Posted April 5, 2010 I got a note from Nina...since I am traveling there on Thursday. She says the staff and hospital are fine. They may have to look at another hospital for sugeries for tomorrow but doesn't think right now they will be rescheudling anything later in the week. I am glad everyone is ok. She said some things fell off the walls but nothing more....
