trish4 3 Posted March 27, 2010 I just was sleeved and got home. One of the medications I take is in capsul form - I can pull it apart and dissolve it and then swallow that but the pharmacy says don't dissolve it to take it whole and drink clear Fluid - HELP! (Not supposed to have anything but Clear Liquids right now so what do I do about this capsul?)
Sabrina 0 Posted March 27, 2010 It's a med that the doc prescribed, or a pre-existing one? I don't think they exclude meds from the clear liquid list. I also assume your doc took a history on you which included, "what medicines are you currently taking?" I'd take it.
girldep 0 Posted March 27, 2010 I was sleeved this week and also take a med that says not to crush. My doctors both my surgeon and pcp told me it was ok to crush. No major problems so far. They Aldo told me to mix in a small tsp of yogurt. I'm also on clear liquids.< /p>

ishary 0 Posted March 28, 2010 I never had any trouble at all taking meds directly after my sleeve. I admit I was pretty scared right after but I did and all was well.
Lee 19 Posted March 28, 2010 I had to wait a month to take capsules. I'd call your doctor. I took my first Vitamin capsules this week and puked them right back up. The capsules can be hard on the sleeve.
