Anna

Have not heard from you yet want to make sure you are doing alright. I heard from Teresa who had hers the day after and she said she saw you.

Hope everything is going ok.

I texted with her this morning. She said she can't stop throwing up. Please keep her in your prayers. I got out yesterday and I'm resting at home. I'm so tired and drained but so glad it's over

anna made a post that she is having a real problem with nausea so please keep her in your prayers until this passes. She is not able to travel home until this passes. I know Dr. Campos and Dr. Aceves will be able to make her well, but she's having a rough time of it right now.

Thanks all! I am finally home and am starting to feel so much better. No more vomiting, but trying to get used to drinking. Thanks for your concern, support and prayers. Kathy I am so excited for you. You are going to rock this thing!

I am so glad you are home. I was very worried about you. I am so happy to hear that you are able to keep things down. When I was getting my pre op testing done I was asking Lucy about you and she said you were in surgery right at that moment. I had to wait for the doctor because they were having such a hard time getting to my port. I am really excited to get this dang thing out of me. Hope to hear more from you.

I am soooo glad you are home and feeling better. I read your in-hospital post and replied to it but hadn't heard from you in awhile so was getting worried. So glad the nausea is gone also. I'm up for the sleeve on next Tuesday with Dr. Aceves. Keep us posted. Ruth

Ruth,

I'm so excited for you. He and his staff are really amazing. I was so well taken care of. Do all the things people tell you, take gas x strips, walk, sip, and hopefully things will be super uneventful for you. The worst part of your experience will be the minimal tv selections!

Anna

Anna I am really glad you posted. I knew Dr.Campos and Dr. Aceves would take good care of you, but it was really good to read that you're feeling better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
