Recommended Posts

hi everybody, I miss u all. I was sleeved 29/10/2009. I lost so far 66 pounds. I need to lose 27.5 more pounds. I am almost five monthes out now. am i going to continue losing? can u tell me at which time after surgery your body stopped losing? I am not exercising regularly apart from walking like 30 minutes a day and may be more some days.

I heard that you can still lose weight one year away from surgery. is this true? I feel much better already but I need to have a normal BMI and can't wait to see my dream coming true.

Hi sweetie. I haven't been sleeved yet but I thought I'd bump this up for you because I'm curious about it too. It does seem like the general opinion is that the people who are considered "lightweights" at the time of surgery tend to lose weight more slowly. I think you'd probably fit into that category since your starting BMI was under 40.

Congratulations on your progress so far!

I would say you probably do need to exercise more. Are you tracking your calories and your carbs? Most people lose best when they keep their carbs at 30 grams or less per day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
