LAN2k 18 Posted March 23, 2010 Thanks for the listing. I'm really delighted to be in the 12 step program and I am growing from the literature. I am actually excited.
Guest rickydee Posted March 23, 2010 Lit studies are some of the best groups! If you want to, once we get our stuff, we can do a little topic study each day, which will definitely attract others. I ordered the 12 OA Steps, the workbook, meditation and stdy book. That could keep us busy a while! I am so happy to be working a piece of this into my bariatric experience! I trust the Higher Power of my understanding and am alive so far...
LAN2k 18 Posted March 23, 2010 I would like to, yes. So far I have the BB and the 12&12 OA book, I should probably pick up the OA workbook?
Guest rickydee Posted March 23, 2010 We could start with the Ch 5 How it works thread. I have registered my thinking, how bout you add yours and/ or any questions:001_cool:! yay!
LAN2k 18 Posted March 23, 2010 Sounds like a plan. I am on step 2 in the program w/sponsor. I am thinking that you are refering to the OA 12&12 book? I'll have to read through chapter 5 then and give you my thoughts.
Guest rickydee Posted March 24, 2010 Actually it's "Ch 5 How It Works" from the AA Big Book. If you look on the thread with that name, I included a quote. Ch 5 is a lso available online...:crying:
LAN2k 18 Posted March 24, 2010 Ah duh!! Thanks I just found it "How it Works". Okay Ricky..I hope you will give me time to read up to and through chapter 5. My sponsor gave me a "My 1st Study Assignment" There are 53 questions for me to answer. She said there is a method and purpose for doing this. So I am really only beginning this venture. I am WANTING to do it so badly, as I wanted to have the VSG. I have realized through my personal experience post surgery, my emotional and spiritual experience a huge void within me and so I hope you will be patient. I don't think I can just skip over to chapter 5 and give an honest assessment since I think I need to work myself gradually to understand it all. I'm a slow reader only because I self distract. I'm going to try and answer the questions given to me by my sponsor while reading through the Big Book and I will respond here when I get there. This is all very exciting to me, where there is hope. Make sense?
Guest rickydee Posted March 24, 2010 Just so you know, This portion of Chapter 5 is read at the beginning of most AA meetings. It is a part of the Chapter, but it has become a stand alone passage, which is fairly self evident, but obviously do what is comfortable for you...rdc
LAN2k 18 Posted March 24, 2010 Stand by... I'm on it. In the meanwhile who knows there may be others who will be interested and willing to contribute. Thanks Ricky.
