MlkPas 5 Posted March 20, 2010 I had my surgery on Wednesday, March 17, and I can't believe how smoothly it's all gone. I've had no nausea at all, and virtually no pain from the incisions. As others have said, it's more of a soreness, like I've done a million situps. I checked into the hospital Wednesday morning, had the surgery around noon (it took just 35 minutes), slept most of the day Wednesday. Was up and walking by 7 p.m. Came home Thursday afternoon. My doctor's post-op diet instructions are to eat whatever I can tolerate, so I've had a little Soup, one ravioli, some Protein shakes, and so on. Yesterday I managed to get in 450 calories and 55 grams of Protein, which I thought was pretty great. Oh, and I haven't had any hunger at all since the surgery. It's now Saturday morning and I'm feeling fine and best of all the scale is down 2.2 pounds from my pre-op weight! Bottom line: Life on the loser's bench is great! I can't beleive that your doc said to eat whatevr you can erate. While I have zero hunger, I hate all the Protein Shakes I've tried and am dying for some fish chickn or eggs. I just want to eat normally again. congrats again!
LAN2k 18 Posted March 20, 2010 Congratulations MlkPas and breekahouse! I'm so glad you both have had good outcomes from the surgery. MlkPas please be careful about eating any solids...the time for that will be here before you know it. I'm looking forward to following your progress, both of you! The first time I try anything new it gurgles like crazy in my stomach and I eat slower, but I haven't gotten sick ... yet! : )

pnw218 14 Posted March 21, 2010 Glad you had such a good go of it. I had two horrible days! and the plane ride home was hell. That being said today is better not 100%. But I have faith!! have not gotten on a scale gonna try to wait one month. D. Sorry you have had a couple of bad days. I know the first two days were challenging but I felt better and better every day. Did you have a long flight? How many days after surgery was it? I would love to only weigh in once a week and see a bigger weight loss. I don't think there is anyway I could wait a month tho! You are stronger than me : ) I really like the little victories along the way. And I am just a bit impatient. lol Hope you feel better soon! Get lots of sleep! MlkPas 5 Posted March 21, 2010 I love weighing every day. Down another pound this morning already! I know it won't go this fast the whole time, but I plan to enjoy it while it lasts! Also, in the past when I was gaining weight, I'd avoid the scale like the plague. So it feels healthier to me to step on it than to avoid it.
