I can't wait..I am starving:svengo: My doctor has his patients on liquids for two weeks prior to surgery. I also quit smoking a month ago. noname 4 Posted March 20, 2010 Hi good luck with the surgery, I know how your feeling, I quit smoking a month before too, but you know what it will be the best thing you do in helping in the recovery process, also make sure post op you really do ur breathing exercises, as a newly ex smoker your lungs are still recovering too, myself i spiked a temp on day 2 and chest xray showed atelectasis, because i wasnt doing the breathing properly, it resolved itself in 24 hrs no problem, but did push my discharge day back one day, and when your feeling so well afterwards, cabin fever can kick in LOL Good luck, welcome, you have done a good job already keep us updated!
