Isopuke (Isopure) tastes like fruit flavored liquid soap to me. The only two times that I have been nauseated in the whole process is (1) when they gave me Isopuke on my Breakfast tray and (2) when they put a blue Protein bullet on my Breakfast tray. Both of them might as well have been Syrup of Ipecac.

I agree with you. When I was in the liquid stage I went and bought 4 big bottles of Isopure. I couldn't have imagined how putrid the taste would be until I opened one and took a swig. The next day I promptly went back to the Vitamin Shop and returned them all even the one I opened (they gave me store credit for that one). I really love the Solgar Natural vanilla Bean "whey to go" Protein powder . It's lactose free with no artificial sweeteners or ingredients. Ion-exchanged, Micro-filtered and hydrolyzed which means it's easier to digest and absorb, since it's pre-digested. One scoop is 16grams of Protein.< /p>

Saffrondust - I love cream brulee...can you tell me where to buy believe?

BariatricEating.com - Ready to Drink Protein

Their store is in Pompano Beach, Florida, which is about an hour from me in Miami. I went all the way there just because they let you try all the different kinds and flavors of Protein drinks they have. I thought if I figured out which flavors I like best, I can order online in the future, so that's my plan. Good luck!

P.S. Their orange peach smoothie flavor is good too. It tastes like orange creamsicle.

I So far my favorite was the chike orange creme and milk. I didn't really like the ready drink pure Protein Cookies and creme but i still was able to finish it. Maybe i am just not that picky. I find it easier if you don't smell it while you are drinking. The smell can be kind of a turn off but it really isn't that bad.

Pre-op I loved the Chike orange so much that I ordered a canister of it. Post-op I can barely choke it down. Post-op I like their chocolate better than the orange. I hope you still love it post-op!!

I also just discovered Jay Robb (my personal fav) has unflavored Protein as well... I'm going to try it, and will let you know how it goes.

Jay Robb is my favorite too....egg white is better than the whey, but i can do either. I haven't tried his unflavored because i can't find it in the 'sample' sized packet. I've used them in Water and also used the vanilla in unflavored Greek yogurt with fruit and extract and made a great smoothie. I highly recommend Jay Robb. If you try the unflavored, let me know how it is, please!!

I agree, Jay Robb has the best protien so far. I cannot stand protien supplements. By far this is the best I've had, it tastes like vanilla pudding..no after taste! Two thumbs up!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
