FreeToBeMe 2 Posted March 13, 2010 Hi All, Protein Shake fatigue has settle in. I really need some tips. I have bookmarked Eggface's recipes and am looking for more. My doc has me on two shakes a day while I am losing. Ugh! I cheat rather often by having real food like pureed Beans when I just can't face a shake. However, I don't feel that I am getting all my Protein in when I do that. I think that a lot of it is psychological because I went from eating for comfort all the time to subsisting on Protein Shakes. If I could just divorce myself from wanting a little comfort from food I could live on shakes. Excuse my rambling. I'd appreciate those tips. TIA.
Stacy160 201 Posted March 13, 2010 It's hard to jazz up a Protein Shake without carbing it all up at the same time. That said, I loved to use chocolate mix, add frozen strawberries, cocoa powder, and some Splenda... THAT was delicious.
Nicolab3ll 0 Posted March 13, 2010 I was so pleased to have found the world according to egg face site, can not do Protein shakes at ALL! Thanks to this site, I have been putting the shakes into my ice cream maker and I admit I have a small amount of chocolate sauce on but have to say it is bearable. However, had to scrap that idea as 20 minutes after the Protein, I had slimes for over 2 hours :scared0:...think I will just have to stick to food puree for my protein, darn it! Lee 19 Posted March 14, 2010 I like to add some Toriani SF liquid to my chocolate shake to give it a little more flavor. also like to use 1/2 unsweeted soymilk and 1/2 Water to give it a little more substance. I like my shakes best when I put them in the blender with some ice to make them a little creamier. Toriani has a lot of different flavors. I have chocolate, caramel, vanilla and strawberry. What about trying some different brands of shakes? GNC is good about letting you return ones that you don't like. I recently got a canister at Whole Foods that I returned the next day because it was vile. I like Bodytech Dutch Chocolate pudding as a change from shakes. You can get it at Vitamin Shoppe. Mixed with 5-6 oz of Water it has 25 grams of Protein (if I remember correctly) and around 145 calories. Nice change of consistency.
