Hey y'all....I am starting out at 320# and my goal is to be around 150. Is is possible for me to lose 170#??? Any loss will be better than where I'm at now but I really, really, really want to meet my goal. Have any of you lost 150+ lbs.??

Yes, it's very possible. Check out Chancie's posts, she is one year out and she's dropped 172lbs. She posts frequently in the "monday morning weigh-in" thread.

I started at 263 the day of my revision, and today I weigh 130lbs. So, in 9 months I dropped 133lbs. I'm only 5'2" so my starting BMI with the band was over 49, and I only technically lost 7lbs with the band.

There are many patients that started close to your pre-op weight and were able to lose close to that amount.

The sleeve is very successful as long as you are willing to make the necessary lifestyle changes to be successful.

Yessssssssssssss!!!! It is VERY Possible!!

As Tiff said I have lost 172 pounds in a year. I am not at "goal".. which is 160.

I got to figureing out that I lost 191 pounds from my highest weight of 373... but I use my "day of surgery" weight of 354.

I NEVER dreamed I would have lost that much weight... I just knew I had to do something. And it turned out to be the BEST thing I have ever done for myself!!

So yes....... it is very obtainable!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
