sweatinitout 0 Posted March 9, 2010 My doctor says that the typical wt loss is 70%. Does that sound right to everyone?
MidwestGirl 8 Posted March 9, 2010 My doctor says 60% of excess weight is usually lost in the first year...but doesn't say what to expect long term. I fully intend to lose 100% of it! :confused1:
deedee 5 Posted March 10, 2010 I think the literature my doctor gave me said 65% EWL was averaged with the sleeve. I think at my last follow up appointment he mentioned that my 100% wl would be a bmi of 22.5, and that is not my goal...so that might mean people like me (who want to stay at a higher bmi) bring the percentage down?? I'll try to look through the materials I was given because this could be way off or maybe someone else will be a little more knowledgeable.
Tiffykins 673 Posted March 10, 2010 65-75% EWL during the first year was my surgeon's information. I don't even know how to figure my % stats so I just had a number that I wanted to get to, and was happy with that.
Lee 19 Posted March 10, 2010 My doctor told me that he would consider the surgery a success if I got to a 30 BMI. He said a BMI of 25 would totally exceed his expectations for me. He doesn't go by the number on the scale.< /strong>
