I LOVE WATERMELON!

It's sweet and tasty.

It's FULL of Water.

It's low on calories.

It makes you feel full.

ILOVE WATERMELON !

Is there any way to eat watermelon besides just chilled and cut up? I can't think of any way to use it except in it's natural, raw, form. MMmmmmmmmm.

Sure there is. Cut out a small "plug" on the side, pull it out and poke around in there with an icepick. Then, stick a funnel into the hole and slowly pour in Vodka, Rum, or champagne.. come back and refill a few times. Replace the plug and keep on ice for a few hours before serving.

*grins*

I wonder how frozen watermelon would be...you know like frozen strawberries or frozen blueberries...you think you could do frozen watermelon too?

I would think that watermelon would be classified as a mushie. It practically turns to Water in your mouth.

I've had watermelon accidentally freeze before - its like frozen lettuce, icky.

Anyone eat salt on their watermelon?

My mouth is watering now. Guess I'll be going to the store soon... AFTER I go walking with Linda V who is being a good friend and dragging my arse outside today! :clap2:

Ohhh.. oh my. That sounds all kinds of good.

I've been making fruit salads lately with strawberries, red grapes, kiwi, banana, canned mandarin oranges and pineapple. No sugar or sweetners on that. Oh my! A huge bowl of that doesn't last long in this house. I get about 1/2 cup and the rest is gone.

Oops... did I just hijack this thread? So sorry.

Watermellon and red grape juice. *drools* Sounds so yummy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
